Well these days home owners may get a vent free gas fireplace in stalled but they may need a vent for their Cigar or Cheroot. Now that there is a great fireplace in the house, the guys are gonna want to come over with their cigars and cheroots and play cards all night. Now that brings up a question. What is the difference between cigars and cheroots? The cigar is a tightly rolled bunch of tobacco that has a pointed end which is were one smokes from. In case you needed reminding. Don’t cut the pointed end to much. I always see guys gnawing on it. Ewe.
The cheroot is a bit different. It is a smoke-able roll yes but not a cigar. For one thing it has a only one side that is lit leaving the other side with a filter for smoking. The filter is usually made of a small rolled piece of corn husks. The outside of the cheroot is made of dried carbia myxa leaf also known as thanal-phet. The inside is a secret blend of tobacco and dried wood. That is of course what makes the difference between the brands and styles of different makers. They come in many sizes. The smallest size is just a bit larger than a cigarette. The big ones get to be about six to eight inches long with about a half inch in diameter.
This is a good thing for the ladies that may show up to the poker party. This used to be the thing with grandma’s generation. The women of the past days would make up their own hand rolled cheroots. They would be made up of the wood and tobacco as well as some leaves and cotton thread probably from the family sewing basket. They even had a tobacco basket to store all the ingredients and tools. Remember the cheroots that were so glamorous? The ones that were at the end of a long ivory holders. All the ladies like to look chic with their smokes and their tight satin dresses.
